Gaming Expo Belgrade continues to grow
Gaming Expo Belgrade (SEE GEB) continues to grow. The South-East European trade show for the gaming industry featured more exhibitor stand space and attracted more visitors than last year.
Visitor numbers to the trade show jumped by around 20 per cent compared with last year, with trade visitors coming to the Serbian capital in search of information about the latest trends in the industry. There were over 80 exhibitors, with most stating their satisfaction with the event.
After a great premiere in 2007, Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH (AGI), wholly owned subsidiary of Novomatic Holdings, returned to the GEB 2008 with a spectacular range of innovations and market-specific products.
"Serbia is a growth market where we see great potential for the near future. Our new sales office in Belgrade, which was opened in October 2007, as well as our extensive show-appearance, signal our strong commitment to the market." said Managing Director AGI, Jens Halle.
Ainsworth Game Technology was exhibiting for the first time. "We have taken over responsibility for Europe from Australia and this is one of the shows that we feel could be important for us." said Barry Marchini from AGT.
Casino Technology of Bulgaria doubled the size of its stand in Belgrade this year. "This is a good prospective market and we have many customers here already after making our entrance two years ago," said Sonia Nikolova. She said that the stand had been visited by operators from all over the former Yugoslavia.
"When we attended the first event last year we didn't expect much and thought it might have been a provincial show," said Gergana Kutseva, Euro Games Technology of Bulgaria. "However, we were so impressed that we decided to double up this year. This is also a good event for meeting operators from Croatia and Slovenia." said Kutseva.
During the event, a take over of the Osmica company from the Republic of Croatia by the Russian ‘Ritzio Entertainment Group' was also agreed upon. Osmica is the third company bought by the Ritzio in Croatia. Special visitors' attention was attracted by the electronic poker tables of the local companies Lucky Line and Soccer.
The SEE GEB Management hopes to make a higher quality event next year, with more exhibitors, at a larger space and to acquire business visitors from the whole of Europe. The third edition of SEE GEB will be held from 17 to 19 February 2009 at Belgrade Fair's Hall 14.
