ENADA Rome - Constantly Growing
The 36th edition of the ENADA International Amusement & Gaming Machine Show was held earlier this month at Fiera di Roma, Rome, Italy. The exhibition hosted 200 exhibiting firms in Halls 3 and 4 at the Roman expo centre, with products including amusement machines, gaming machines with cash prizes, and on-line gaming systems.
The game and gaming trade's companies, products and services were showcased. This is a particularly important business sector, since last year 23 million Italians spent 42.2 billion euros on games and gaming and it is forecast that in 2008 that the sum could reach almost 50 billion. In this context, new slot machines have the biggest slice of the takings (approximately 40% of the total), via by over 300,000 machines installed in 100,000 public venues and 1,600 amusement arcades.
ENADA Rome 2008 was visited by 11,234 trade members (6% more than 2007), of whom 1,149 were from abroad (a 12.5% rise). ENADA Rome was held across three days this year rather than the traditional four days, and in spite of the shorter time frame, visitor numbers increased and were of an even higher professional level.
SAPAR Chairman Paolo Dalla Pria commented, "ENADA 2008 was one of the best editions I remember, because there were a lot of visitors and great interest in the expo. It was a real trade show, with the stands packed with trade members talking business, not just chatting. At ENADA supply and demand really met: numerous trade members needing to update their machines and on the other hand a show of products ready for the market, thanks also to the various type-tests and approvals carried out recently. I'd like to stress that there weren't just slot machines, but a really in-depth overview of products."
