Big Buck Hunter Pro World Champion crowned
Jerad Berg has been crowned the Big Buck Hunter Pro World Champion after beating out Dan Mundschau in the final of the 2008 Big Buck Hunter Pro World Championship, which was held October 18th in Chicago.
Players competed for 3 hours in a challenging double elimination format, with the World Champion title and a $10,000 cash prize at stake. As the tournament rolled along, the matches became tighter and upsets often occurred, resulting in no number 1 seeds placing in the top 8.
The final round required the two players to play a full adventure (15 sites plus 3 bonus rounds). Dan Mundschau entered into the final match with no losses, needing only one more win to secure the World Championship. Jerad Berg had one loss and would need to win twice to bring home the Championship. Jerad Berg dominated the Caribou and won, giving Dan one loss and forcing a second and final match. The top two players in the world faced off again and after a very close game, Jerad Berg pulled away from his opponent and took the title of World Champion and a $10,000 pay day.
