Let's Go Jungle - Motion Base Cabinet
Let's Go Island - the next light gun game to be released from Sega and the follow up to the 2006 hit Let's Go Jungle - has been announced and will be available soon. The game will be available in both non motion and motion cabinets, and sees the return of characters Ben and Norah who this time are on a South Pacific Island diving tour when they run into trouble with pirates.
A series of adventures unfold with the player exploring many different islands and undersea worlds - all of which have there own array of enemies to combat in order to progress to the next level.
Justin Burke of Sega explained "'Let's Go' is a great brand that many other companies have tried and failed to emulate since the original 'Jungle' game was first released - but like all great originals it is hard to capture the essence in a sequel, unless you masterminded the original on the first place!"
Like the original, Lets Go Island will have a unique 2 player cabinet, but this time based on boat theme - with fixed auto reload swivel machine guns the game will again have cross player appeal. Learning from Lets Go Jungle Sega have moved away from the closed theatre type cabinet opting this time for a more open cabinet - Burke continued on the design of the cabinet that "in response to operator feedback - the closed cabinet was observed as being too off putting for many family players, an enhanced security risk, and limiting visibility of the screen from within a location. Let's Go Island addresses all these points and is also in a lighter coloured cabinet to enhance its on site appeal".
The game also features many minigames to entertain and test the skills of the players, who are required to work in cooperation. This is designed to increase repeat play probability along with an increased number of stages and routes over its predecessor.
