Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. will put on a range of amusement game machines at the 2013 Japan Amusement Expo (JAEPO) which will be happening later this week on the 15th and 16th February at the Japan exhibition center, Makuhari Messe.
The games vary greatly with the announced titles including card based games, music games and a horse-racing game.
The card game titles are 'DRAGON COLLECTION: The Ambition of the Pepper Gang' and 'Monster Retsuden ORECA BATTLE'. 'Monster Retsuden' is a game aimed at encouraging co-operative play between parents and their kids, and features smartphone connectivity so that kids can play in arcades with monsters that the parents have trained up using the smartphone application.
While 'The Ambition of the Pepper Gang' is based on the hugely popular mobile application 'DRAGON COLLECTION' in which users collect and battle with play cards, and currently boasts over seven million users worldwide. The aim of the game is to train up characters through battles and fusions, and users are rewarded with real cards as well as gaining the same reward items on their mobile applications via the smartphone connectivity feature.
Also, the 'GI-GranDesire' will also be featured at JAEPO as well. It is a large-scale, 'mass medal', horse racing arcade game. Similar to the card games, this machine alslo features the smartphone connectivity, offering fans a whole new way to play and enjoy the game.
From the music games comes two new titles: 'Future Tom Tom' and 'Sound Voltex II - infinite infection'. 'Future Tom Tom' is a rhythm based game that can be played with friends, family or a partner in which players follow the beat with well-timed slaps of special pads and by posing as instructed on the screen. On the other hand, 'Sound Voltex II' is a music game that puts user-defined music tracks and artwork into the gameplay for a user based evolution of the game's content.
These are the only titles we have heard about so far for the Konami booth which will exhibit at JAEPO later this week, and more news to follow.
