The Art Alive! Attraction
The Grand Re-Opening of the Crayola Factory as the new Crayola Experience facility took place over the Memorial weekend in Easton, PA. The four story amusement factory provides kids with a unique digital out-of-home experience that is educational, physical and interactive.
"At the Crayola Experience, we are ambassadors for the power of color and creativity. Each day we help children discover the magic of color through hands-on experiences that allow them to express their unique ideas so they blossom into inspired, original adults," expressed the mission statement on the Crayola Experience site.
The facility features eighteen new attractions that allow kids to explore art and technology, express their creativity, and experience color in a whole new way. The Art Alive! display is of particular interest. Using the DigiTools app on the Tryten iPad kiosk stations, kids can design and color characters that become part of a larger-than-life screen wall display. The wall display sense motion and reacts to your movement with a variety of responses.
There a four stories of crazy, interactive and colorful fun for kids of all ages. On the first floor is the Crayola Store, which has the largest collection and variety of Crayola products in the world, and Cafe Crayola is also located on this floor for a quick bite to eat.
On the second floor, kids can see how crayons are made at the Crayon Factory live theater show or customize labels and wrap their crayons in their very own designs with Wrap It Up! You will also find the Art Alive! display on this floor, along with the Workshop area, Colossal Caddy where you can color in on a digital platform with thousands of crayon colors, the green screen photo booth - Say Crayola, Toddler Town - a playground area for the tiny tots, Be a Star where kids can star in their very own coloring page, Marker Mania where kids can make a custom multi-color marker from scratch, Modeling Madness where kids can sculpt colorful model creations to take home, and the super fun Birthday Party area for functions.
The third floor includes Water Works in which kids must maneuver and splash your boat through this 85 foot water table attraction, Doodle in the Dark which is a special blacked-out room where kids can make bright marks on backlit doodle boards, Puzzle It! where kids can create and cut out their very own puzzle, Paint Palette where kids can paint and create artwork, and the Color Playground which is an indoor playground for the older kids.
The fourth floor includes the bigger and more involved experiences, more suitable to the older kids, such as Meltdown where kids can use melted crayon wax to paint, Crayon Clinic where kids can melt and mold their favorite color into a Crayola Experience keepsake, and Drip Art where kids can create swirly-whirly masterpiece with melted wax.
The Crayola Experience hosts private groups, corporate meetings, birthday parties and special events, and offers group discounts and annual passes as well.
