Stern Pinball "Rocks" the PAPA 16 World Championships
Stern announced on the 17th August their successful contribution to the Professional & Amateur Pinball Association's World Pinball Championships, which was held on August 8-11 at the associations headquarters near Pittsburgh.
Stern proudly featured many of it’s hottest titles at the PAPA 16 championships last weekend to players from around the globe who gathered to compete in the high profile tournament.
The PAPA sponsors pinball tournaments all around the globe and encourages the spread of the "pinball bug", much like Stern itself, making a co-operation between the two an obvious choice.
Each year, PAPA operates the largest, most competitive pinball tournament held anywhere in the world, bringing more than a thousand players and spectators together to enjoy four solid days of brutal pinball battles.
“The PAPA World Pinball Championships always focus on using the latest and greatest Stern pinball machines in the tournament, and this year was no different! Players battled across Metallica, AC/DC, Transformers, Tron and Avatar as they attempted to qualify for a shot at the nearly $45,000 in cash and prizes available,” said Josh Sharpe of the International Flipper Pinball Association.
The successful event not only encourages pinball fun, but also raises money for charity. This year's champion is Bowen Kerins. Congratulations Bowen!
