Bandai Namco Games has updated the release date for the highly anticipated Pokken Tournament arcade machine from summer 2015 to July 2015!
We reported previously that there had been expectations for a
June release, although the possibility of delays was very real and could push the release date back. Evidently, that is what appears to have happened with the update of a July release.
The company has been drip feeding the public information on Pokken Tournament since the initial announcement for the game in August last year. The game has had a promotional flogging over the last 10 months, with video footage, live streams, and conferences showing new game play and characters, design features, and game play features. These promotional ventures are often accompanied by Katsuhiro Harada in a Pikachu onesie.
The Nintendo collaboration allows players to play as actual pokemon, a first for a Pokemon game which usually poses the player as a trainer commanding pokemon. The game uses Pokemon characters fighting using Tekken mechanics.
There is still no confirmation or information on any planned Wii U release.
