The Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) 2015 conference and trade show, presented by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
With more than 350 exhibitors, 70 of them new this year, showcasing new products and services for the amusement parks and attractions industry; the Expo once again breaks past records, occupying an unprecedented 9,400 net square meters of floor space.
The Expo is expected to attract 7,000 industry participants, including an estimated 5,000 buyers from 65 countries, eager to experience the latest industry innovations and new products on the trade show floor; upgrade their professional skills through the Expo’s education program; and forge valuable new business contacts with industry peers at a series of informative and entertaining special events.
AAE 2015 officially begins with an Opening Ceremony on 17 June at 09:25 officiated by Mr. Gerardo Arteaga, 2015 IAAPA Chairman of the Board, Mr. Paul Noland, IAAPA President and CEO, and Ms. June Ko, Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations, IAAPA. Mr. Gregory So, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of The Government of Hong Kong SAR, as well as numerous industry leaders and representatives from well-known theme parks and attractions from around Asia-Pacific and the world will also be in attendance.
Welcoming visitors to the Expo, Noland said:
“Asia is a key growth area for the attractions industry, so it is a great pleasure to see the region’s most important industry event grow each year. Many Asian attractions are relatively young or they are in development, so the Expo gives their operators an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced leaders and build connections within the industry. At the same time, with visitors constantly demanding something new, innovation is the lifeblood of the attractions business. The Expo provides an ideal platform for the region’s innovators to present fresh dynamic concepts that will continue to fuel the success of the industry for many years to come.”
Through AAE, IAAPA provides a learning platform and resources of the highest quality, with a series of informative education seminars and opportunities for sharing experiences. Participants will learn from global industry leaders and experts, and acquire practical technical and market information they can use in their business.
A series eight education sessions 17-19 June provide information on a wide range of topics including: what’s new in Asia, safety, business recovery strategies, corporate social responsibility programs, leveraging brands in attractions, media-based attractions, and destination marketing. At the Leadership Breakfast on 18 June Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Jim Reid-Anderson will share some industry experience and information about the success of the world’s largest regional theme park company.
