We recently reported Don Bluth and Gary Goldman had started a
Kickstarter campaign to help fund a movie version of their popular game Dragon's Lair, which has since been abandoned after failing to raise the needed funds. The animators have now reposted the campaign to IndieGoGo and have already raised $82,709USD fo the $250,000 USD goal in 12 hours.
Contributions to the campaign will go towards the production of a four-minute pitch presentation video, which will include an "outline storyboarding, i.e., drawings that will hit the bullet points of what the movie will eventually be. Within this four minute pitch video, our team will also create one full minute of classical animation in full color." It will also pay for the employment of a screenwriter to assisst with the script.
The new perks include access to the studio blog which will monitor the progress of the film, various ways of thanking funders, free download of the movie, autographed prints from a Don Bluth movie of your choice, prints from Dragon's Lair, lapel pins, lanyards, hats, shirts, the Dragon's Lair game, animation DVD tutorials by Don Bluth, interactive animation lessons, and loads more!
The IndieGoGo campaign page also includes a movie synopsis. If you would like to read what the animators have in store for the next chapter of Dragon's Lair, or check out the full list of rewards and perks, you can see them here:
