Polycade To Launch in March or April
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $125,000USD, Tyler Bushnell and his team are getting ready to launch the Polycade this March or April.
The Polycade arcade machine is a non-commercial, multi-game arcade cabinet that is mounted on your wall. The simple and retro design of the cabinet has a classic arcade feel to it, as you would expect from the son of famous game innovator, Nolan Bushnell of Atari.
The machine runs games using open source emulation and the team have worked in conjunction with the RetroPie Project to bring their machine to fruition, aided through crowdfunding from retrogaming fans.
The cabinet also has different options for control panels, inclulding two 3 player panels and one 2 player panel with what looks like a trackball control. The different panels are titled 'Classic', 'Showdown', and 'Tech'.
When first launched on Kickstarter as a project, it was evident the idea resonated with gaming fans with the project almost reaching it's funding goal on the first day!
The actual release/shipping date for the machine is yet to be announced, but with it being March already updates on their availability should be coming soon.
