Zero Latency & Sega Live Creation Team Up for Free-Roam VR Attraction in Japan
Zero Latency, the Australian-based creator of free-roam virtual reality (VR) technology, is teaming up with Sega Live Creation to bring multiplayer free-roam VR to Japan.
Zero Latency will customize a free-roam VR system with all-new content, weapons, next-generation player wearables, and upgraded tracking technology exclusively for Sega Live Creation. The system will launch during Tokyo Joypolis’ 20th anniversary in July as a permanent attraction.
"When we first tried the Zero Latency experience, we were blown away" said Kazuhiko Hayami, Sega Live Creation's Executive V.P.
"We knew we were witnessing the birth of a new medium, and we wanted to be involved straight away. We are only at the early stages of understanding what free-roam VR is capable of," he added. "It's one of the most exciting technologies coming to market today."
Australia-based Zero Latency’s wireless VR technology allows users to explore digital worlds with absolute freedom and unprecedented levels of immersion. The concept of the technology is to allow multiple players to roam the large space simultaneously, in which they can embark on a mission individually or as a team of up to six.
It has been reported that the technology in Japan will feature all new content Zombified content for players to enjoy!
