Scott Blume, New Managing Director of Timezone Group
Effective beginning October 3, Scott Blume will be the new Group Managing Director for Timezone. The chain operations has over 200 FEC locations across Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines and India.
Scott Blume has extensive experience in the travel and leisure industry including a previous role as Managing Director and CEO for WOTIF.com Holdings, and led the sale of the business to Expedia. Since that time, Blume has been involved in a number of digital and technology start-ups.
"I look forward to working with our team and our partners to further develop an already successful and iconic business," Scott Blume said. "Our focus moving forward will be to accelerate our growth to capitalize on the ongoing expansion of the leisure market throughout the Asia-Pacific region, through a combination of investment in existing and new locations, potential new markets and concepts, and acquisitions. I am looking forward to working with existing strong teams across the business and re-establishing myself in Singapore."
In conjunction with his appointment, Sonaal Chopra will continue as chief operating executive, overseeing all Timezone business operations as CEO, and Executive Director Adam Steinberg will become Chairman of the board. The current Chairman Malcolm Steinberg will step down from his post, remaining on the board as Founder and Non-Executive Director.
Incoming Chairman Adam Steinberg said, "It is incredibly exciting to have someone of Scott's calibre [sic] and experience to lead and develop the aggressive growth strategy we have planned. I am looking forward to working with him to achieve these objectives."
"In the 38 years since the first Timezone Centre was established in Perth, Australia," said Timezone Group Founder Malcolm Steinberg, "the potential and conditions for the business to grow have never been greater. It is part of human DNA to want to go out and socialize with friends and family, and the digital world can not fully replace that."
Congratulations to Scott Blume and Adam Steinberg, and all best in your new positions.
