The Kickstarter campaign for the book launched on Friday, October 14, and has already received $8,880. The project is aiming for a total of $50,000 by December 12 to fund the project.
This new book will be 200 pages with 160 images in total and colour foldouts, featuring the art from Stern’s most memorable games over the past 30 years, as well as taking an inside look at the history, design and the people behind the production of pinball machines.
Alongside the photos there are interviews with designers such as John Trudeau, Steve Ritchie, George Gomez, John Borg and more – all of which have worked on one or more Stern Games over the decades.
The rewards for donating to Stern’s pinball coffee table book project include:
- $1 or more: donators get a personalized thank you card and constant updates on progress
- $10 or more: get digital wallpaper for your computer
- $15 or more: a poster
- $25 or more: a t-shirt
- $55 or more: a hard cover version of the book itself when it prints.
The rewards after this are a mixture of all these rewards with a PRO, Premium or Limited Edition version of the book, until you get to $200 which will earn you a Zombie Yeti Print. $500 or more will earn you a total of ten books and a t-shirt.
The pinball artworks included in the book are yet to be announced, although the Kickstarter page does include images from the KISS and Ghostbusters pinball machines, so that is a start. More information to be published as it becomes available.
