Creative Works and KWP have partnered for a mixed reality concept
Creative Works has announced an exclusive partnership with Kevin Williams, founder and director of the out-of-home leisure entertainment consultancy KWP, to develop a mixed reality attraction.
The entertainment industry is constantly evolving to meet new market demands and compete with in-home entertainment while technology is developing at an increasing rate.
The goal of Creative Works and KWP’s partnership is to harness the latest technology to bring a ground breaking, immersive attraction to the market – mixed reality.
“Too many vendors in our industry fear the advancements with in-home entertainment and technology,” Armando Lanuti, co-owner of Creative Works, said.
“Rather than fear it, we want to understand it so we can take the successful elements and, with the support of KWP, craft a truly unique digital game experience that will define the sector’s future.”
The mixed reality attraction will not be virtual reality and it will not be real life. Rather, it will bridge the gap to deliver the best of both worlds while eliminating the weaknesses of each. It will be a new category called “mixed reality”.
One of the hindrances of emerging virtual reality technology is that it does not create an inclusive, social experience.
Existing virtual reality games are limited to small groups of players. And even if they could include more, the headsets cut people off from one another in a physical sense; at best only allowing glimpses of an avatar in the digital world.
Together, Creative Works and KWP are working to fix this and maintain real human connections within a new kind of digital experience.
Mr Williams has an extensive background in the digital entertainment industry.
He leads KWP’s focus on applying cutting-edge technology to the amusements and attractions sector.
Creative Works designs and builds venues, manufactures and supplies attractions, and creates props, effects, décor and more for amusement sites around the globe.
The company uses its 33,000 square foot production facility and talented team of artists, designers and fabricators to bring imaginative ideas to life.
