The 2016 IAAPA Attractions Expo is just one week away. A number of companies are showing their excitement by releasing sneak peeks and teasers about what they will be showing at the event.
One of the bigger arcade industry announcements came from Sega last week, when it revealed it would be unveiling a brand new Daytona arcade racing cabinet at the trade show set to be held in Orlando, Florida between November 15 and 18.
Daytona 3 Championship USA comes 18 years after Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge was released (in 1998) and 22 years after Daytona USA was first launched (in 1994).
Sega will be set up in booth 1606 at IAAPA.
India-based tech company TouchMagix will debut its MotionMagix at IAAPA. The compact gesture-tracking device is the company’s first venture into the amusement industry.
MotionMagix projects an image onto a floor or wall which players interact with by using their hands or feet. The company has 100 games, ranging from sports themes to puzzles, loaded into the system.
“Our newly designed interactive projector system allows the family entertainment and arcade industry to enjoy a welcomed change to the older worn-out systems currently on the market,” TouchMagix chief executive Jayesh Kariya said.
The TouchMagix team will be demonstrating a version that allows customers to pay-n-play with ticket redemption option at IAAPA. The company said on its website that this would appeal more to FEC and arcade gaming industries.
The MagixFloor has an integrated ultra-bright projector which can create an interactive virtual playground from sizes of 6’x4’ to 10’x 8’ depending on height available at location.
TouchMagix will be set up in booth 2011.
Australian company Arcooda will release “something new to the fish hunting game market” at IAAPA. The company is due to release Mystic Dragon.
According to Arcooda’s website:
“Fish hunters looking for something different to play can emerge from the sea and focus on the skies with Mystic Dragon.
“Mystic Dragon is a new game in the fish hunting series where up to eight players shoot fish, which have different point values, to earn winnings.
“Instead of creatures that live in the ocean, players of Mystic Dragon can shoot birds and dragons flying over forest, mountain and seascapes.”
For more information, visit Arcooda in booth 6106 at IAAPA.
The 2016 trade show floor, set up in the Orange County Convention Center, will be the largest in the event’s 98-year history, surpassing the previous record of 568,800 square feet set in 2001.
More than 1000 exhibiting companies, including nearly 200 first-timers, will showcase innovations in 125 product categories including new thrill rides, family attractions, midway games, water slides, inflatables, simulators, food and beverage treats, and technology.
