Sega appeared to be a big hit at the 2016 IAAPA Attractions Expo with many taking to social media to talk about the products the company showed in its booth.

The most talked about arcade product was, of course, Daytona 3 Championship USA.

Sega announced earlier in November that it would be showing a prototype of its third arcade racing machine in the Daytona series at IAAPA.

You can read more about it here.

Sega also uploaded an album of photos to Facebook picturing people who played Daytona 3 first at IAAPA and placed first.

You can see those photos here.

Twitter user Matt (@MatteRabbit) posted a photo of himself with a large Sonic the Hedgehog figurine at IAAPA.

Matt said IAAPA was “bangin” and that he “got to play the arcade Luigis (sic) mansion and the new Daytona USA”.

Arcade blogging site, Arcade Heroes, uploaded eight minutes of Daytona 3 footage to YouTube on the first day of the trade show.

Other products Sega showed at IAAPA include:

Video game - Target Bravo: Operation Ghost

Target Bravo is a two-player game with a 55” theatre cabinet. The object of the game is to take the role of a special forces agent and use weapons, gadgets and special equipment to defeat enemies.

Video game - Let’s Go Island Dream Edition

A follow-up to the big hit Let’s Go Jungle. Players are set on a South Pacific island and fight gangs of pirates using a huge 55” screen and rapid-fire effects.

Children’s games - Dinosaur Catcher, Pump the Balloon, Let’s Go Safari

Dinosaur Catcher: A colourful, fun-filled ticket redemption game with 19 different dinosaurs to catch.

Pump the Balloon: An activity-based, a ticket redemption game in which players have to catch as many balloons as they can using a pump action controller.

Let’s Go Safari: Children take the wheel of an expedition vehicle taking them to exotic places where they will see and learn about animals and their habitats. Tickets are awarded for skilful driving and using the vehicle’s controls.

In the Sonic range - Sonic Dash Extreme, Sonic Blast Ball, Sonic Air Hockey, Sonic Sports Basketball and Sonic Kiddie Ride.

All launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the popular character.

Sonic Dash Extreme: An arcade version of the Sonic Dash mobile phone game. A Sonic character is selected at random for the player, who must use the arcade cabinet’s D-pad to move sideways and avoid obstacles. The arcade game awards prizes in form of redemption tickets, which the player gets after passing the checkpoints between small sections.

Sonic Blast Ball: The game begins with a red ball rocketing around the perimeter of the vertical playfield, pushed forward by a cushion of air. Players must press the large “Blast Ball” button to open a series of mechanical gates at the top of the playfield, dropping the ball into multi-value holes in order to score tickets. If the player times it right, they can hit a side-to-side moving target that awards them more tickets with a spin on the game’s Jackpot Wheel.

Sonic Air Hockey: A fast paced air hockey redemption table designed for up to four players with Sonic themed audio, dual ticket dispensers, scratch resistant play field, safety guards, chasing LED lights, lighting gantry
Sonic Sports Basketball: Features include a new difficulty setting, linkable up to 15 players, back lit back board, built-in ticket
dispenser and moving hoop.

Sonic Kiddie Ride: The car is modelled on Sonic’s race car in the popular Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing arcade and consumer title. Features include two seats, programmable ride time and Sonic game music.

Other Sega Amusements products on show at IAAPA included;

Magician’s Wheel:
A ticket redemption game. The game begins when the wheel starts to spin. Using a single button, players drop a mechanical flapper into the path of the spinning wheel. The flapper slowly brings the wheel to a stop and if the player times the drop right, they win the bonus ticket value.

Luigi’s Mansion: Is an arcade version of the popular Nintendo title. Players guide Luigi through mansions on an action-packed ghost hunt. Additional features include puzzles and boss battles, with everything playable in either one or two-player mode.

Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Arcade Edition: The fifth instalment on the Mario and Sonic series. The game is divided into three main game modes: a simple role-playing game inspired story mode, a versus mode, and the option to play all the sports mini-games separately. A total of 14 sports are represented.
