Sound Leisure is now wholly owned by the Black family after they acquired the 50 per cent of shares previously held by the family of co-founder Eddie Moss.
The company confirmed that it has acquired the 50 per cent of shares previously held by the Moss family, meaning Sould Leisure is now wholly owned by the Black family.
Alan Black and Eddie Moss established Sound Leisure in 1978 and built the business up to become the pre-eminent supplier of jukeboxes in the UK, to the consumer and retail trade.
Mr Moss died in 2014, but before his death he had passed on his shares to his son, Kevin.
“Eddie and my father had a wonderful partnership and friendship and both families remain extremely close,” Chris Black, managing director of Sound Leisure, said.
“However, with Kevin having lived abroad for the last 20 years and my brother, Michael, my wife Cath and myself involved in the day to day running of the company, alongside dad – it made sense to bring the remaining shares back into our family.”
Sound Leisure remains the world’s oldest single ownership jukebox manufacturer, celebrating 40 years next year.
They have become renowned for innovation and manufacturing quality machines.
In 2016, Sound Leisure signed a landmark deal with the world’s largest digital jukebox manufacturer, TouchTunes, in order to pool resources and expertise to revitalize the supply of digital Jukeboxes to the UK pub retail sector.
