AMI Entertainment has acquired jukebox manufacturer NSM Music Group
AMI Entertainment Network has acquired a UK-based manufacturer of jukeboxes.
AMI, part of the Harbour Group, said its acquisition of NSM Music Group, founded in Germany in 1951 and now based in Leeds, was “highly complementary” and would help to expand its “global footprint”.
Harbour Group's chairman and chief executive officer, Jeff Fox, made the surprising acquisition announcement on February 9.
“We are excited to bring NSM into the AMI Entertainment Family,” Mr Fox said.
“NSM's long track record and innovative technology in the jukebox industry complement AMI's platform offering and its effort to expand in Europe.”
While terms of the transaction were not disclosed, it is understood NSM will maintain its independent branding and headquarters.
NSM is a leading digital jukebox manufacturer and operates a digital music network serving bars, pubs and restaurants in locations in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
The company combines aesthetics with new technologies to design, develop, and manufacture the next generation of digital jukeboxes, video jukeboxes, internet jukeboxes, and music products.
The NSM deal marks the first overseas expansion for AMI, a provider of digital jukeboxes and other products for the nightclub and bar industry.
Going forward, AMI plans to invest in NSM and enhance the company’s products and service.
NSM general manager Martin Agabeg will report to AMI president Mike Maas.
“NSM helps further AMI’s goal of providing state-of-the-art entertainment to meet the needs of pubs and restaurants everywhere,” Mr Maas said.
“This is a highly complementary acquisition that will expand and strengthen AMI’s global footprint by adding a jukebox network as rich in heritage as our own.”
Harbour Group companies are engaged in manufacturing and distribution in multiple industries, including scientific products and lab ware, thermal management solutions, flow and energy measurement, boiler systems, professional diagnostic and repair tools, niche distribution, logistics services, abrasives, diamond-cutting products and related tools, entertainment and music products, and auxiliary plastic processing equipment.
Since its founding in 1976, Harbour Group has acquired 190 companies in 39 different industries.
