Read-Only Memory, in collaboration with games writer Keith Stuart, paper engineer Helen Friel and illustrator Kam Tang are releasing a pop-up book detailing SEGA Arcade's most iconic 'body sensation' cabinets: Hang-On, Space Harrier, Thunder Blade, After Burner and Out Run!
The book contains stunning paper sculptures depicting the arcade machines, with schematics, game artwork and historical context filling in the pages. The pages are heavyweight matt art paper stock to provide durability. According to Darren Wall, SEGA Arcade: Pop-Up History has been created with the full collaboration of SEGA, and is estimated for release in April 2019.
Pledges on kickstarter start at $46 for a limited edition version with a silver foil case and embossed cover, and recently the campaign has completed its pledge goal of $71,063.
