With 111 pinball machines on free play, UK Pinfest saw a big turn out at The Mercure Daventry Court Hotel, England. The event was held at the previous home of the UK Pinball party, hosted by Andrew Heighway from 2010 to 2014. Taking place over August 25 and 26, the expo was the first Pinball expo in England for 2 years.
The UK Pinball Open and UK Pinball Classic tournaments began at 10am on the Saturday. Modern machines were used for the Open and solid-state titles for the Classic tournament. The winner of the Open, Rich Mallet and winner of the Classic, Rafael Madedo were awarded their trophies Sunday afternoon.
The expo also included seminars, with the first being from Team Pinball. This was followed by a talk from Dennis Van Der Pas and Gerard Van De Sanden on the Kill Bill game and a talk by Homepin director, Mike Kalinowski.
Pinfest was open to the public, with new machines from Homepin, Team Pinball, American Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball and Stern Pinball all on free-play and drawing a lot of attention.
