Largest Playable Game and Watch Device Awarded Guiness World Record
The largest playable Game and Watch device has been declared by the Guinness World Records. Created by Australian Dr Thomas Tilley, the Nintendo Game and Watch Octopus measures 193cm by 116cm or 6'4" by 3'10". The game is approximatly 17 times bigger than the original pocket sized console. Work on the machine began in May 2017 and concluded in October of the same year. It was then put on showcase in Adelaide in November.

'The machine is built from a 42' LCD TV, wood and some old curtains donated by my Mother-in-Law,' said creator, Tom Tilley.

The game runs Octopus, or Mysteries of the Sea and Mysteries of the Deep as it was known in the UK. Players must avoid the octopus while trying to retrieve sunken treasure. The original game was released in 1981.

The game will appear in the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2019.This will be the 12th edition of the annual book.
