IAAPA 2018 finishes with a bang!
This year's IAAPA Attractions Expo finished on the 16th, and it seems to have been a great success! Over 40,400 people registered to attend the event, and there were 25,500 qualified buyers on the floor. The association also celebrated its 100th anniversary at the event. IAAPA Attractions Expo was applauded for its focus on new products and buying, with VR companies scattered throughout the venue between traditional entertainment offerings. The event itself provided an overall feeling of innovation, complimenting the focus on new product offerings.
Awards
At this year's IAAPA, there were plenty of awards to go around. Jake's Unlimited in Mesa, Ariz., won the Top FEC in the World award, while ICE won an Image award due to colourful games like the new Waterfuls at its booth. QubicaAMF won a Brass Ring for its HyperBowling concept, with Laserforce also winning one for its Gen 8 Infinity laser tag system. Hologate received the Best New Product Award for its Zombyte game, a ground-breaking first-person zombie shooter.
Australia's own Luna Park also received an IAAPA Brass Ring Award for "Most Creative Property-wide Event: Annual Attendance Less than 1 Million" for their participation in Sydney's 2018 Vivid Festival. During this year's Vivid Festival, the entire amusement park was lit up with colourful shapes and patterns.
