An entry portal complete with winning game and prominently placed partner links ("gastro-Professional", "Schweiz direkt", "gastro-journal") had been specially branded on the machines for the fair.
This portal also served to illustrate the wide spectrum of possibilities provided by the Touch2Web terminal including:
- Internet access
- Mail service
- Foto cards (built-in camera!) for mailing
- Information and tips by the respective business (menu plans, bus schedules, opening times of sauna, weather info etc.)
- permanent partner links
Initial scepticism by some partners was cleared out of the way, leaving no doubts. Numerous contacts and enquiries clearly emphasised that internet access with special offers and tips for the guests of a respective hotel or outlet are a current topic in this industry.
For funworld Switzerland this pilot project during the IGEHO 2001 was only the beginning.
