Wangan Midnight Races into Europe
Namco Europe has commenced delivery of its innovative sit-down video driving simulator Wangan Midnight throughout Europe. Based on the hugely popular Japanese comic of the same name, Wangan is a high-octane street racing game.
Namco Europe's business development manager, Kjeld Erichsen commented: "Wangan Midnight features many of the key components which lay at the heart of a successful video game. A visually impressive unit, it features graphics and sound that immerse the player in the gaming experience; a compelling story line and, most importantly, unique gaming features which make it stand out from the crowd."
For the first time in a racing title, Wangan Midnight utilises a ‘life' gauge to decide who is the superior driver; the further the distance between player and competitor, the more the pursuer's life gauge decreases. Players can also enter a Story Mode, racing against eight increasingly skilled drivers, culminating in a race against supreme roadster ‘Devil Z'. During Story Mode new players can break into the game at any time and challenge their opponents to a ‘Head-to-Head' race.
Wangan Midnight features a Time Attack mode in which players can race against the clock. When players complete the race within the allotted time they are given a password which can be used in the official Time Attack rankings on Namco's website. Changing traffic density, different racing styles and the visually enhanced backgrounds, buildings, streets and cars of Tokyo's Metropolitan Expressway stretch players' driving skills to the limit in this realistic and versatile racer.
