Photo Play's Continues it's No Game Violence Policy
According to renown German school psychologist, Bernd Jötten, there is a clear connection between computer games that glorify violence and acts of violence. "Such games prepare perpetrators systematically for their deeds", explained Jötten in a discussion on the Erfurt catastrophe with the Reuters news agency last Saturday, "Simulations build up violence competencies". Politicians' call for the tightening of gun license regulations and stricter rules pertaining to the display of violence in videos and computer games are quick to become a large-size media campaign after catastrophes such as the crazed event at

Media scientists say that especially unstable people with weak characters can focus their conception of the world by intensive consumption of violence. Violence is then
quite naturally understood to be a "solution".
To oppose this spiral of violence with a positive alternative, Josef Öhlinger, who is the founder and chairman of the board of upper-Austrian funworld ag, decided consciously against violence on Photo Play terminals way back in 1995.
