Sega Europe Releases Soul Surfer
Sega Amusements Europe Ltd have released Soul Surfer to the European market with a splash. Got a need to "Hang Ten" but can't make it to Bondai Beach this weekend? Sega can help get your fix with Soul Surfer. The only thing missing is the taste of salt water in your mouth and sand in your swimming trunks! Surfing for the masses! Soul Surfer is the coolest game to hit the arcades this summer. Players get the opportunity to challenge the worlds biggest waves on a hyper realistic surfing simulator. Surf the legendary beaches of California, Polynesia, Japan, Hawaii, South Africa and Australia.
Sega Amusements Sales Director; Paul Williams commented: "Soul Surfer was originally shown in Japan at the AOU show in February. The quality of the graphics generated by the NAOMI 2 board was so good that they were able to project the graphics onto a massive12m x 9m screen for presentation purposes without any degradation of the quality. The game is great fun to play and can best be described as Top Skater on water."
Choose between two levels; easy and hard. Then stand on the surfboard and swing / tilt the board to ride the crest of the wave. Step on the back of the board to make jump tricks or swing and step back at the same time to make turning tricks. Each level throws you into the thick of the action with waves varying in characteristics so that no two experiences are the same. The waves will test even the most professional surfboarder with their varying characteristics – a fast one, a high one, a tube etc. The player must concentrate and calmly read the movement of the wave and clear the specified points in order to go on to the next stage. There are a total of 8 gruelling stages to complete. Players earn their points by how successfully they are able to perform their tricks, how long they can ride in the tube and how many combo's they can make. Try to make the tricks at the peak of the wave to earn the highest points.
Players can choose between a total of 5 funky characters each with their own speciality tricks. There are a total of 30 tricks to be learnt, which when executed to perfection will make the player the most ultra cool player in the arcade. The game, which is designed using the powerful NAOMI 2 platform will be manufactured in Japan and the first production, is scheduled to hit our shores in July. So what are you waiting for; Get out into the Ocean and Ride the Motion!
