SEGA CORPORATION;
COMMUNICATES that cabinets identical to the NAOMI cabinet produced by SEGA are now being produced and marketed in Italy and that such products constitute slavish imitation of the SEGA's products and, that the aforesaid production and marketing are made without the consent of SEGA.
WARNS distributors, retailers, owners of bars, arcade games shops and public places of any kind, not to perform any activity of distribution and/or marketing and/or use of the aforesaid cabinets because these activities infringe the rights of SEGA and constitute unfair competition.
POINTS OUT that SEGA will not tolerate any infringement of its rights and that it has already started legal actions in order to protect its rights and to recover the suffered damages.
In particular the Court of Naples in the proceeding for interim measures R.G. ___/2002 filed by SEGA against Playmatic S.r.l. of Naples, with the interim decision rendered on 24 May 2002 authorized the seizure of the cabinets that constitute slavish imitation of the NAOMI cabinet which will be found at Playmatic's registered office and branches, and ordered to Playmatic not to "produce, distribute, sell or market in any way" the aforesaid cabinets.
INFORMS that any future infringement and abuse of its right will be legally prosecuted.

With the copy cabinets publicly advertised in European magazines as well as at major European trade shows, there could be well over 1000 of these cabinets in the marketplace.
Highwaygames has found out that many of the distributors and resellers in Italy are to join forces and defend the legal action by SEGA. But even more surprisingly they plan to take action again SEGA at the European Court at Brussels.
