Namco Europe Forms Mobile Division
Namco Europe has announced the formation of a new division to supply Namco games and other applications to web based and mobile technology platforms. The Web and Mobile Content Division (WMC) will be based at Namco's European headquarters in west London.

Luca Nardoni, formerly with business information company Datamonitor plc and Barclaycard subsidiary ShopSmart, has been appointed to the post of business development manager.

John McKenzie, commercial and finance director at Namco Europe, outlined the remit of the new division: "Geographically we will be dealing with the UK, continental Europe and the Middle East. Whilst the mobile network is a key element of the business, we also anticipate additional spin-off activities. The creation of a dedicated division and the appointment of Luca Nardoni will allow us to develop the full business potential of Namco games delivered across web based and mobile technology platforms."

Namco already has an existing business in Japan where it hosts and provides a comprehensive suite of full colour games, graphics and logos across i-mode, J-SKY and EZweb networks. The vast library of titles includes classic games such as PacMan, Galaxian and Xevious.

The Web and Mobile Content Division is the latest addition to the Namco business to be based in west London. It joins divisions dedicated to coin-op manufacturing and distribution, the operation of leisure destinations and the supply of electronic components and spares.
