ATE Charity Event Raises £30,000
The British coin-op industry once again displayed its incomparable ability to combine fun with charity fund raising at the recent Coinslot Golf Classic, which was held at the Carden Park course(pictured left) in the north-west of England. The two-day event – which was organised by the ATE Special Events team, led by manager Samantha Byrne – raised a total of £30,000 (€46,780 / $45,750) for the BACTA Charitable Trust and its nominated charity, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf.

Reflecting on the tremendous generosity displayed by the industry, Samantha Byrne said: "All of the 200 participants were connected to ATEI either as exhibitors or visitors. Despite the quiet state of the business, everyone contributed to the fund raising, once again demonstrating the industry's unrivalled ability to support less fortunate sections of society."

The £30,000 pledged by the coin-op industry was raised through sponsorships, auctions, raffles and golfing competitions. For the first time, a series of outdoor activities including extreme driving, were provided for the industry's non-golf players.

The golf tournament was the second major charity fund raiser organised by ATE this year, and follows the International Casino Exhibition Ball which generated £66,000 (€102,925 / $100,670) to help support the work of the internationally respected Adopt-A-Minefield organisation which raises funds to clear land mines and help survivors of land mine accidents.
