New Media Technology - Hot Topic for Upcoming Conference
Launched this September, Windows Media 9 Series should realize the true potential of digital media on the PC. It offers a foundation for the digital future of the media and entertainment industry, consumers, developers and business. In fact, the new Windows Media 9 Series claims it will power the next wave of digital media and that it is the most comprehensive platform for developing digital media products and services.
Another novelty being greatly awaited is Sony's CoCoon (dubbed CoCoon, for COnnected COmmunity On Network) – to be launched this November in Japan. The device, will be the first of Sony's 'Cocoon' line of products that aim to become an alternative to the PC for accessing Internet content. Sony's new line of devices will use the hard disks to enable consecutive recording and playback of both music and movies. Combined with broadband connections, the devices will be capable of network functions.
