EGO Assesses its Role

On 5th December EGO will hold a special meeting to discuss the role of the organisation over the coming years. Due to the huge changes planned by many European countries and the expansion of the EU a re-assessment of what is needed is essential.

"This meeting is not only open to EGO members" said Secretary General Chris Brammer. "We plan to have a meeting in the morning for ex members and other interested parties followed by an EGO AGM in the afternoon. The input from the industry is needed as it is they who decide what EGO does for them"

Jens Halle of Novomatic has taken a special interest and hosted a meeting recently in Vienna to discuss how they might become involved with EGO in the near future. Jens will be a key attendee at the Dec 5th meeting.

Part of the meeting will look at the role to be played by operators within EGO prior to an inaugural meeting of the EGO Operators Division Steering Committee in January 2003. With centralisation a hot issue many operators see the need for a common voice to represent them in Europe.

The meeting will start at 11am on Thursday 5th December at the Amsterdam Hilton Schipol Airport. Interested parties should contact Chris Brammer or Keith Fagan
