Ego to Develop New Charter for the Future

Ego to Develop New Charter for the Future
During the recent meeting at the Schipol Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam, the European Gaming Organisation was given a clear mandate to develop a new charter. Unfortunately due to illness Secretary General Chris Brammer was not able to attend and the Chair was taken up by Keith Fagan.

Prior to the meeting a questionnaire was sent to members and non-members to ask whether there was a need for a Pan-European association for the Casino Gaming industry and the result was a resounding yes. However EGO's traditional role is one associated with the manufacturers only and also mainly to restrict the numbers of trade shows. This is obviously not the way in which the industry needs to be represented in the future hence the need to provide a clear set of aims that will ensure EGO is the association to fulfil this Pan-European role.

A meeting date of the middle of March has been set for the presentation of not only the Charter but also a 5 year business plan to set short, medium and long term goals for the association. Also to be addressed at this meeting will be the election of a new board and the possible appointment of a full time team to carry out the necessary work that will be required.

The next step is an initial meeting of an Operators Group Steering Committee scheduled to take place just prior to ICE in January. For further details of EGO and either meeting please contact Keith Fagan at marketing@ego.nl
