Sega Amusements Europe Ltd will be exhibiting Crazy Taxi High Roller on stand 1030 at the ATEI 2003 in January. This is the long awaited sequel to the highly successful Crazy Taxi that was released to the coin op industry in 1999 and is still a top earner in many arcades today.
Crazy Taxi High Roller takes this hugely successful format to a new level. It is a frantic mix of funky characters, some bizarre passengers, rib tickling gags, cool driving and fun atmosphere. To become an expert at the game the player needs nerve and split second coordination. However the easy to use controls and sheer fun and entertainment that is in the game ensures that even the most inexperienced player leaves the game wanting for more.
Paul Williams – Sega Amusements Europe Sales Directors commented: "We have been eagerly awaiting this game for some time in Europe. The original Crazy Taxi was a modern day classic and we fully expect Crazy Taxi High Roller to live up to this pedigree. We are also very pleased that Sega Japan has chosen the ATEI to launch this game for the first time to the public. It really does emphasise the importance of the European market to our global coin op strategy."
The addition of two entirely new fun packed courses and the introduction of two new functions "HOP/JUMP" and "GROUP CUSTOMER" function bring an entirely new dynamic to the game. There are three driving courses with four different drivers to choose from on each course. Whilst driving through any of these courses the player can pull the "HOP/JUMP" function to jump over any obstacles or get special bonus points. It is not as easy as it sounds, jump at the wrong time and you could be paying a higher premium on your car insurance next year. In this game it is not just the drivers that are a little bit "Crazy", but also some of the customers are nominees for a padded cell.
Sega Amusements Europe Ltd, Southern European Sales Manager - Jean – Luc Dieudonne commented, " It all makes for a game full of fun and unexpected surprises. Players just can't help enjoying themselves with this game."
Developed using Sega's new high performance platform called "Chihiro" it will allow far more depth of play and detail than has previously been available. The game is scheduled for release in Europe in March and will be available in the Naomi Universal Cabinet.
