Stern Promotes New Pinball Tournament System
Starting this month pinball maven Steve Epstein will be visiting distributors and operators in the United States to promote Stern's new Tournament Pinball System (ToPS™). Steve will be educating distributor salesman and technical staff as to how ToPS™ works and the best ways they can explain it to customers. Steve will also be walking operators through setting up ToPS™ in their location and discussing the best ways to run successful pinball tournaments. Steve will report operator comments back to Stern, so that Stern can make ToPS™ into an even better tournament system for its customers.
Stern's Tournament Pinball System (ToPS™) is a complete in-house tournament system. ToPS™ uses no phone lines, no servers, and gives the full location privacy. Stern developed the ToPS™ system with these things in mind after consulting with many operators and location owners throughout the United States.
Steve Epstein is well known throughout the industry as the father of pinball tournaments and the man behind The Broadway Arcade in Times Square in New York City. Steve began to work full-time at the family owned Broadway Arcade in 1970, and when pinball became legal in New York City in 1976, The Broadway Arcade immediately turned into the top test location for the five major pinball manufacturers of the time. In the early 1980's, Steve and Roger Sharpe started the first pinball leagues in the United States. They formed the Professional and Amatuer Pinball Association (PAPA) and subsequently held six international pinball tournaments, one every February at the Park Central Hotel in New York City. Steve retired from the industry in 1997 when The Broadway Arcade closed.
