Speakers Line Up in Barcelona
Some of the most influential names in European coin-op games and gaming will be sharing their knowledge and expertise at the forthcoming Eurotechno conference, which takes place at the Hotel Melia(pictured left) in Barcelona, Spain on 22 May.
One of the major underlying themes at this year's conference is the growing convergence of coin-op and gaming technologies, most notably amongst low payout (soft) gaming AWPs, traditional casino slots and the expanding range of online and interactive gaming. The list of speakers reads like a who's who of industry stalwarts drawn from two of the pioneering markets in these fields: Spain and the United Kingdom.
Speakers from the host nation so far include: Eduardo Morales, General Manager of Sega-Sonic, who will outline the trends and opportunities afforded by converging competition to the coin-op industry; Rais Busom, Internet Manager at Cirsa Interactive, and Alejandro Pérez García, General Manager of New Technologies at Recreativos Franco Group, will discuss how traditional operators are moving to online and interactive platforms and the lessons which can be learned from the burgeoning i-gaming and gambling market; Eduardo Antoja, President of Euromat, will provide an update on the current status of European coin-op markets and issues they face.
UK industry luminaries include: Neil Chinn, Managing Director of Maygay Machines, who will look at new technologies and their applications in the coin-op market; Gavin Isaacs, Managing Director of Aristocrat Technologies Europe, will explain the video slots market, covering business models, opportunities and threats to AWPs; Nigel Jones, Director of Sattori Systems, and David Purvis, Sales Director, Gaming, at Leisure Link will offer their experiences in increasing and maintaining product innovation through the development of new betting, gaming and entertainment content for existing and new customers.
Using technology as a route to increasing customer loyalty and raising usage on machines is the topic under discussion by Frank Seninsky, President & CEO of AEM and a past President of US trade association, AMOA.
Suki Scade, who is co-ordinating the conference, believes that Eurotechno will provide an ideal platform to discuss key issues facing suppliers and operators in the European industry: "Delegates will get a unique insight into how front-line companies are exploiting the latest technologies, analyse the trends in new product innovation, discover new ways in maximising revenue and explore the threats and opportunities thrown up by converging competition," she said. "All this, coupled with the opportunity to network with the industry's real movers and shakers, means that Eurotechno 2003 is a must for industry professionals looking to keep up with the leading edge."
