Elo TouchSystems Worldwide Private Label Agreement
Elo TouchSystems, Inc., announced the signing of a private labeling and distribution agreement with Zytronic Displays Limited of Blaydon-on-Tyne, United Kingdom. Under the terms of the agreement, Elo will distribute Zytronic's projected capacitive touchscreen technology worldwide through Elo's normal distribution channels under the Elo brand name.
This agreement firmly positions Elo as the industry leader with the broadest variety of touch technologies in the industry. Complementing Elo's existing product lines, the new projected capacitive touchscreens will be available in standard sizes and are ideally suited for outdoor and through-glass public-access applications such as ATMs, Web phones, ticket machines, industrial displays, pay-at-the-pump gas machines, under counter, and interactive kiosk systems.
"By implementing this private label agreement with Elo TouchSystems, we now have the premier touch company promoting our unique technology through their global sales channels," says Ian Lawson, chief executive, Zytronic Displays Limited.
"The decision to enter into a private label agreement with Zytronic was prompted by the synergy of two innovative and forward-looking companies," says Mark Mendenhall, president, Elo TouchSystems. "The addition of projected capacitive touchscreens is complementary to Elo's existing touch technologies and expands Elo's comprehensive product offering to enhance our position as the leader in touch technology."
The Projected Capacitive Technology
Elo's projected capacitive touchscreens are based on technology that enables the pointing device to sense through a protective screen in front of the display, so the units can be installed behind a store window or other protective materials. The solid-state construction of the touchscreen provides unsurpassed resistance to impacts, scratches and vandalism, making it ideal for public-access applications. The touchscreen is unaffected by moisture, heat, rain, or harsh cleaning fluids. The embedded sensor and solid-state controller provide increased levels of reliability and life expectancy, resulting in a drift-free response and a low-maintenance unit that requires no recalibration.
