Photo Play-Trophy in Switzerland
The best 300 MASTERS-players of the past three Swiss Master Leagues were invited. The first 100 to register were chosen to attend the players' event in Lake Lugano's picturesque surroundings. After the great success of previous Photo Play trophies in Morschach, Rust (Germany), Grindelwald and Montreux, Lugano was quickly booked out. It goes without saying that the fan community's meeting last weekend was once again a first-class event complete with fun, entertainment and creative ideas provided by the participants.
After Saturday's welcome, the by now customary rally took place out in the nature. At a variety of stations atop a hill, participants had to solve a number of riddles, estimate distances, find a treasure and to bring this safely to the goal. For the route, well-packed Photo Play backpacks complete with camera, snack, sun-care products etc were provided. Once at the goal, participants were able to employ their full creativity because here they were called upon to act out one of Photo Play's games live.
Without a doubt, favourite games chosen were "Concentration", "Mill" and "Snake". For Concentration players built three rows of four persons each. Each person had a number on his/her back and a Photo Play backpack with a hidden item in it around his/her front. After onlookers were asked to call out two numbers, the two Concentration actors concerned had to show their backpacks' contents. During Snake backpacks were set up on the floor to form a barrier. The aim was to find a blue Photo Play cap from the bottom of the stack. Once this was located, the finder had to put the cap on and to join the queue, thereby lengthening the snake by another person.
In the evening the players were not only invited to a relaxing dinner, but also to join a Photo Play competition. 4 games were pre-selected for the contest. 50 Photo Play terminals were made available for the contest. Sunday finally ended with a game of human soccer, a life size version of table soccer!
Once again the Photo Play trophy surpassed all expectations so a pleased Hans-Peter Schild, manager of funworld Switzerland. "It is the best kind of feedback one may wish to get for one's work when one watches the amount of joy and motivation our players participate with", states Schild with conviction. "We already look forward to coming up with new great ideas for the next time, because we still have a great number of ideas in store".
