Seeing double at the Trocadero
Funland, Trocadero in London's Picadilly Circus is now the only site in the world to have two U2 Mirage simulators on the same site. The Trocadero purchased their first silver and black U2 Mirage in October last year. Now, after only nine months trading, the Trocadero have committed to a second U2 Mirage. To make room for the second U2, the Simuline which was working alongside the current U2 Mirage was removed. John Fleming, Managing Director of FX Simulation said "We are very pleased that Funland have decided to purchase another U2 Mirage. Prior to this installation the single U2 Mirage operated alongside three other simulators. Clearly the U2 Mirage has proved reliable and given an amazing return on investment. So much so that not only has it paid for itself, but it has made enough money to pay for another!"
In conjunction with Funland, FX Simulation created a Special Edition U2 Mirage (pictured) which is not in the normal silver and black colours we are used to seeing on the U2 Mirage. Mr Fleming said "We worked with Funland to create a slightly different looking U2 Mirage. Although fundamentally it is the same inner workings, we wanted to change the colour of the capsule to give it a different look from the original U2 already sited." To create the different look of the Special Edition, FX Simulation used an innovative type of paint which controls light, using light interference technology. This paint creates a colour which changes as the light upon it changes. Thus with the U2 Mirage's dynamic movement it will appear almost chameleon like as the colour is constantly changing. The same paint has been used on products such as Nokia phones, Wilson tennis rackets, Nike trainers and cars such as the TVR Tuscan, Mercedes Benz and the 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra. "We are very proud to be continuing our relationship with the Trocadero. It assures us that the great faith we have in our product is not misplaced. We fully stand by the U2 Mirage - it has a mature and proven design which has time and time again proven that it can perform with amazing returns on investment," Mr Fleming said.
The U2 Mirage continues to enjoy proven success on the UK market with the second install at the Trocadero and continuing it's dominance of UK bowling alleys. Todays U2 Mirage simulators are manufactured in Scotland by FX Simulation. The two seater coin operated simulator is stand alone and requires no operator. The U2 Mirage fully conforms to all relevant standards including CE and ADIPS. It continues to be one of the most profitable simulators on the market today. It's two seats and choice of six rides allow for a rapid return on investment that no other two seater simulator has been able to achieve.
