Photo Play X-Treme clients with online linked terminals can now receive free upgrades, which will enhance the advantages of their terminals. "It's an upgrade exclusively for our online clients," said Funworld's marketing and sales executive, Marco Huter. The first of these upgrades is now available, and the second will be available by mid-November. The upgrades will allow players to search for a competitor with the same level of skill. "Experience has shown that a challenge is at its best when players, who play with matching skill, meet. The player search is absolutely targeted" Mr Huter said. To ensure that this selection process is possible, matching players who are currently available in the system and who themselves are on the search for partners with corresponding qualifications, appear on the screen.To increase the interactive spirit, the upgrade allows the option to exchange messages and photographs. The live.tournament is also revised in the new upgrade, so in future, players with matching adeptness will meet up in the course of a three-part ranking list (gold, silver, bronze). "It is incredible how many people are enthused within only a short period of time during such a tournament. Therefore players should be given the opportunity to compete against matched counterparts," said Mr Huter. "What we absolutely want to avoid is that weaker players are frustrated, which causes them to leave the terminal because they can't get any further." The multiplayer games have also been optimised in the upgrades. Mr Huter said the company would introduce the Update 2005 in the coming weeks to its online clients. "All that is required for the activation of the update is a chip, which the operator needs to insert in the terminal."
