IAAPA members from all over Europe will gather at Port Aventura in Salou (near Barcelona), Spain for Heart & Soul, IAAPA's 2005 European Conference on May 26 and 27. This year's event is important for two reasons: the first, IAAPA has moved the event earlier in the year so as to help its European members get a head start on their seasons. Second, the event falls on an important date for Port Aventura — its 10th anniversary. IAAPA said it is excited to co-locate this annual educational event with this important milestone.

The event's theme, Heart & Soul was chosen to emphasise the importance of appealing to guests' emotions when planning marketing and advertising strategies. Speaking on this topic are keynote speaker Suzanne Piet, an author, communication strategist, and psychologist; and Luis Huete, author and a professor at the IESE Business School in Barcelona. Many industry leaders will be in attendance at this year's conference, including Mercedes de Pablo, CEO of Port Aventura; Bart Dohmen of BRC; Pablo Heinig from Argentina; Vicenc, Veses of Port Aventura; and Kurt Grötsch, who is developing a Flamenco museum in Seville.
