Infogrames and Konami Enter into Distribution Deal in Japan

Global video game publisher Infogrames has entered into a distribution deal with Konami to distribute and market throughout Japan select future titles published by Infogrames Japan KK.The agreement marks one in a series of steps Infogrames has taken over the past two years to expand its presence in Japan, one of the most important global gaming markets, after having built strong positions in the U.S. and Europe.
Beginning in June 2002, Infogrames Japan KK, the subsidiary formed in 2000, will begin publishing Infogrames titles most readily adaptable for the Japanese gamer, focusing initially on Infogrames' strong racing line-up, which includes titles such as V-Rally 3 and NASCAR Heat, among others.
"We are delighted to have entered into an agreement with one of the leading Japanese distributors," said Bruno Bonnell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Infogrames. "We believe that Konami's extensive distribution network throughout Japan will significantly enhance our ability to reach the all-important Japanese gaming audience with our products."
