Melbourne Welcomes Free Retro Gaming Experience

Game/On is Melbourne's newest city attraction, turning the QV Square into a gaming world for the month of September. The free attraction will include an arcade zone, gamer v gamer competitions on the arcade machines, an augmented reality scavenger hunt and a party every Friday night of the event. The event will be run from August 31 to September 23.

The free arcade zone, open from 11am to 7pm daily, will include games such as Frogger, Pacman, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders. This will take place in the QV Square. Gaming competitions will also take place here every Friday from 5pm. Competitors can register for heats which will take place on the 31st of August and the 7th and 14th of September. Finals will be on the 21st of September. Friday nights will also include a party from 4-7pm. This will include a Nintendo themed candy bar, a DJ and a light instillation.

An augmented reality scavenger hunt will also take place in the laneways around the square. Entrants into the hunt will go into the draw to win part of a $10,000 prize pool.
