Photoplay Enter the Online Gaming Arena

The Austrian company Photoplay in conjuction with Germany's games portal www.flipside.de recently began beta testing of it's first online game "Der Herr der Kelten". After only a very short period of time, 6,500 participants had registered and almost brought the server to a standstill. The game is a strategic game where participants become a chief of a celtic tribe. The player has the task of leading his/her people to glory and fame. Only chiefs who prove they have the required strength the skills have a chance of becoming the "Herr der Kelten" (Lord of the Celts)!

The basic aim of of the game is to conquer the island. To do so, the play much collect resources and build up their city. Four times a day players' moves are evaluated
during a "change of seasons", after which the game can continue. Players can discuss stragety and their experiences.

This game in falls in line with there policy of non violent gaming but unlike all of their other games, this game only requires a computer and the internet.

After the Beta testing is finished, flipside will provide the game in the form of an online strategy game in which players will be charged for the use of the server.
