Play Mechanix Celebrates 20th Anniversary

On November 15, Play Mechanix will be celebrating their 20th anniversary, which was founded in 1995 by George Petro, a former game designer for Williams Electronics and Midway Games, a leading console game publisher.

The company is celebrating 20 years of exceptional out-of-entertainment, in which time they have re-shaped the landscape of arcade and amusement gaming. The goal of Play Mechanix when it was established was to design and develop the most compelling and profitable interactive entertainment products available, and from that goal has come some of the most popular titles in the current market.

They are responsible for phenomenally popular Big Buck Hunter series, the following for which has grown so large after their partnership with Raw Thrills in 2006, that is now hosts a World Championship every year! The most recent Big Buck World Championships, that took place in Chicago, welcomed the largest number of qualifying players and the largest prize pool in the event's history. After that successful endeavour, Play Mechanix became a wholly owned subsidiary of Raw Thrills.

It has been an exceptional 20 years in arcade gaming with titles such as Big Buck, Terminator, Aliens Armageddon, and so many more. Congratulations to everyone in the Play Mechanix team and a big thank you as well for your service to the industry!
