Results from Golden Tee Connecticut State Championship

The third annual Michelob Light Golden Tee Connecticut State Championship was held from July 25 - 26 at the Greater Hartford Open PGA tournament. Players competed in their home bars from May through mid-July to qualify for the finals at the GHO. Over 50 players were present for the 18-hole qualifier Friday. The low 16 shooters moved on to Saturday's head-to-head, single elimination finals. Each of the 16 finalists received a Michelob Light sports bag and a Golden Tee shirt.Chris Goldspink, who plays at Cuppy's Cake in Shelton, CT, went undefeated on Saturday to win the event. Chris received the grand prize, the TPC Experience for four at Sawgrass. The TPC Experience includes instruction from one of the game's top pros. Tony Hill II, pub champ from Golden Gate Lounge, finished second, losing a tough final match to Chris. Peter Jacobsen, color commentator for Golden Tee golf, won the Greater Hartford Open on Sunday, making a perfect ending to a great weekend of golf.
