Sammy Joins Sega Management

Sega Corporation has this week announced the appointment of its chairman and representative director, Hajime Satomi - founder and present representative director of Sammy Corporation.

The announcement was made following a board meeting on February 17, 2004, with all appointments and changes to company management made effective immediately.

Sega's business execution structure faced some changes with former chairman Hideki Sato demoted to vice chairman and Yoshiharu Suzuki, Sammy's executive in charge of arcade games, appointed to Sega's board of directors. Hisao Oguchi retains his position as president.

This development comes only months after Sammy Corporation purchased a majority share of 22.4 percent of Sega in December 2003.
