Sega and Sammy Take Centre Stage at ATEI 2005

Sega Amusements Europe and Sammy Europe are to exhibit as a united company at this year's ATEI 2005 with two stands at the heart of the Earls Court exhibition hall. "With a combined product range to encompass everything from video to redemption, novelty to SWP and from vending to simulator - the offer is one that should appeal to every operator," said Sega's Paul Williams. With a total of 20 different products including several centrepiece machines; Cycraft, Initial D3, and two new multi player format games; WCCF and a new Derby Owners Club from Sega - its stands are not to be missed. The Sega branded stand will occupy its traditional large centre stand 1030 and also this year neighbouring 939, but will house products from both companies. Sega will be exhibiting its current range of new video product that was launched at the London Preview in October. The then 'prototype' Out Run2 SP with its character Ferrari 360 rear end will be in full force and on show in a four player linked format; this will be coupled with the new twin version also with this latest software. Also with a new cabinet format is the new upright Ghost Squad as a successor to the deluxe version. The two player shooting game has "outperformed all other gun games" since its launch according to Sega's Aaron Gilbey, "with the Players Smart Card system definitely boosting the income". To compliment these products Sammy also has a new sit down twin cabinet to add to the existing upright, for its latest driver "Faster than Speed", an all American street racing game. "The expensive looking but low cost cabinet will offer operators a great return on investment," said Sammy's Martin Riley. For gun games, Sammy will be showing its Ranger Mission and latest Extreme Hunting both in the 33" sized cabinet. Again the impressive sized cabinet but low cost makes the Sammy gun games great investments.Sega will be showing the new Virtua Striker 4 with Player Smart Card system, and for the first time in final European software. The classic game has greatly advanced with new features, buttons and players to attract core and new players. The additional Smart Card Feature further enhances the player's options and opens up a whole new area of game play. Continuing on the Soccer theme also from Sega will be the first UK showing of World Championship Club Football or WCCF. This eagerly awaited multi player game follows on from Derby Owners Club and emulates a fantasy football style football management game. The impressive eight player piece feature collectable Panini players cards as a main part of the game. Derby Owners Club will also be featured in a new format, that very similar to a multi player AWP setup, and with the new small footprint, this should appeal to a whole new market. On the novelty and vending front there is a wealth of product from both companies. Sammy will be showing as a main piece its very popular Prize Party. The multi head bulk vendor offers customers a range of vend options all from one multi mech - with bonus features and additional head options this is a great product for the market. Go Go Cowboy and Across the World, the prize every time novelty games, will be on show also. Sega will be showing off its Mushiking concept that is now hitting the market place in the UK. The kids' video vending game has had resounding success in Japan and Asia and Sega has similar hopes for it here. Also from Sega will be a licensed redemption game 'SpongeBob SqaurePants', again a kids game, but a very simple roll 'em in style game based on the popular kids cartoon character. Finally, dominating the main stand will be two Cycraft simulators with the latest software Initial D3. The slick moving low cost simulator from Simuline brings the great Initial D3 title to life. With new cars and courses, the title has performed well since its summer debut in twin format, and with this extra dimension that can only be experienced on Cycraft, it will no doubt make this latest version a real success.
