Signed Chelsea Shirt Auctioned for Charity

Talarius, owner of the Quicksilver chain of AGC's, is inviting bids for a Chelsea shirt signed by the 2005/6 Premiership winning side plus enigmatic coach Jose Mourinho. The auction is just part of the Talarius fundraising campaign on behalf of CHIPS, the industry charity that provides powered wheelchairs to children with profound disabilities. Bids for the shirt, which carries a certificate of authenticity, should be registered via email to chelseashirtbid@sjc.co.uk by 5pm on Friday 30th June.

The highest current bid of £250 was made at Quicksilver's five-a-side football festival held the day after England's opening victory over Paraguay and which itself raised in excess of £4,000.

Quicksilver regional director, and tournament organiser, Steve Lawrence enthused: "When we realised the competition had been arranged for the day after England's opening World Cup game, we feared the worst. While there were more than one or two bleary eyes at the outset and, like England, red faces at the end, the commitment on and off the pitch was superb. Congratulations to the men's winning team, ‘Section 16', and the victorious women's outfit ‘Magic 7s'." He added: "CHIPS is a fantastic charity which has touched the hearts of everyone it has come into contact with at Quicksilver. We're extremely proud to be part of the extended family of CHIPS supporters and look forward to topping the £16,000 figure we raised last year."
