Switzerland Shows Its Best Photo Players

Once a year the best Swiss Photo Play players meet to identify their national champions. The event is anticipated with great enthusiasm by the Swiss Photo Play community months before it actually takes place. All those who had been at this year's World Games of Photo Play in Alpbach and who remember the Swiss with their oversized cowbells there, can imagine the emotional involvement. This year however the Photo Play trophy was not held on Swiss ground. The event took place in Germany at the leisure park in Rust at the end of June. Over 70 Photo Play enthusiasts had arrived to meet the challenges of the contest and to enjoy the entertainment programme.

Once they had been welcomed, the players could hardly be held back. Four games (Shanghai, Fun Towers, Crazy Saloon, Switzerland Quiz) were available in the live.tournament mode. 20 games each had to be played to achieve the appropriate score. After a thrilling neck-and-neck contest it was clear by the evening who the Swiss champions were: the victors were Jürg Fahrer (Shanghai and Crazy Saloon), Gabriele Drappa (Fun Towers) and Albrecht Inniger (Switzerland Quiz). The overall trophy winners were Frank Käser, Jürg Fahrer and Gaelle Ceragioli. Whoever believes that the Photo Play games were over with the presentation ceremony in the frame of a Greek evening, is wrong. The 28 Photo Play SMARTs were still occupied at 5 a.m.!
